President Obama showed off his comedic chops at the 99th Annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night.
Taking center stage to DJ Khaled’s hit song “All I Do Is Win” booming from the speakers, Obama followed up by saying, “Rush Limbaugh warned you about this — second term, baby. We’re changing things around here a little bit.”
The night’s event continued on a jestful note as the president poked fun at himself and some current events in the media. He even mentioned Jay-Z and Beyonce’s controversial trip to Cuba.
“So, yes, maybe I have lost a step,” Obama said. “But some things are beyond my control. For example, this whole controversy about Jay-Z going to Cuba — it’s unbelievable. I’ve got 99 problems and now Jay-Z is one.”
Shifting attention to more serious matters, Obama made mention of recent tragedies around the country.
“These have been some very hard days for too many of our citizens,” he said. “Even as we gather here tonight, our thoughts are not far from the people of Boston, the people of West, Texas, and in the Midwest there are some people coping with some terrible floods.”
