Does Naomi Campbell have a hosting gig on Saturday Night Live in her future?
During a stop at CBS This Morning to promote the new season of her show The Face, the British supermodel revealed that appearing on SNL is one of the things that she hasn’t done but “would love” to be invited to do.
Asked if she’s prepared to deal with phone-throwing jokes that would surely come with doing a SNL skit, Campbell said, “Of course. I’ll take that. I pretty much get it every interview I do.”
“I mean it’s not nice to the person and I apologized for that, but the actual action, I’ve made fun of myself,” she added.
Campbell pleaded guilty to charges of assault after she threw a phone at her her maid. She has since done community service and attended anger management classes.
“I grew up in front of the world…we all make our mistakes. I’ve never shied away from them. I’ve been the first to say, hey, I’m in recovery,” she said.
The Face star says that she’s not sure why she’s so controversial, “Because I’m British maybe…I’m a Gemini; I don’t know.”
Campbell talked about how she thinks there will never be a time for supermodels parallel to her reign in the ’90s and revealed that she is working on a secret project with original supermodels, Christy Turlington, Stephanie Seymour, Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford. She also opened up about her relationship with Nelson Mandela saying, “He meant everything to me. When I got in trouble or anything, I ran to him always…it was like he was there to support.”
