The residents of Ferguson, Mo. have not given up their fight to get justice for Mike Brown.
The state’s National Action Network chapter will lead a vigil with Brown’s parents, Lesley McSpadden and Michael Brown Sr., outside the St. Louis County Department of Justice Services on Saturday to demand Wilson’s arrest.
It’s been more than a month since Wilson shot the unarmed teen at least six times, killing him, after an alleged scuffle. Witnesses say Brown ran after Wilson shot him the first time, but the officer kept firing, even after Brown stopped and put his hands in the air.
A grand jury began investigating whether Wilson should receive criminal charges on Aug. 20. In addition, the Department of Justice launched two civil rights investigations surrounding the matter — one specifically into Brown’s shooting, and the other into the Ferguson police department.
The “Arrest Him Now” vigil is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. CT at the Buzz WestFall Justice Center, where the St. Louis County Department of Justice Services is located.
