A Cleveland resident called the cops on a 12-year-old black boy who mistakenly cut the resident’s grass while operating his summer lawn-cutting business.
According to Reginald Fields, who owns Mr. Reggie’s Lawn Cutting Service, he was cutting the lawn of one his clients, when the police suddenly showed. Apparently one of the neighbors called the police to complain that Fields and his team had cut their grass and were standing in their lawn.
“They said I was cutting their grass. I didn’t know it!” Fields told News 5 Cleveland.
Although the police did not approach him, Fields said that he felt discouraged: “I was like, that’s a shame. I didn’t know.”
But his client, Lucille Holt, did not want that one incident to destroy Fields’ drive. She went ahead and created a Facebook post describing what happened.
”I guess I have a line where part of it is now my yard. They called the police to tell the police that the kids was cutting they grass,“ she said in the video, adding that her neighbors often call the police for little reason.
The video has since been viewed thousands of times and resulted in a ton of new business for an excited Fields, who wants to save the money earned to build his business.
”People are inboxing me like, ‘how can I get in touch with this children? Where are they at? I got property I want these kids to cut,’“ Holt said.
As for the shady neighbor, they refused to talk to News 5 when approached.
”Just give me a call,” Fields says. “I will be there. On time!“
