As Lamar Odom continues his laborious recovery, Nevada prosecutors are saying that they will not seek drug charges against the former NBA player.
The Associated Press reports that Nye County District Attorney Angela Bello said that there was no proof that Odom used or was in possession of cocaine while staying in the county at the brothel where he was found unconscious. Medical reports show that the cocaine found in his system had already metabolized.
Lamar Odom Spotted Outside the Hospital for the First Time Since Health Scare
“[It is] unlikely it could [be] established beyond a reasonable doubt he actually ingested, or was impaired by, the drug during the time he was within the jurisdiction of Nye County,” Bello said in a statement.
Odom was reported unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada in October last year. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remained in a coma for multiple days. He has been showing signs of progress since he woke up, and over the weekend, he was reportedly transferred to a rehab facility.
