Ahead of its Memorial Day debut, a second trailer for the remake of 1977 Roots has been released and from the looks of it, we will defintiely be enthralled.
The “You’ll Be Free” trailer features some of the dynamic actors who help bring the story to life, including Malachi Kirby as Kunta Kinte, Anika Noni Rose as Kizzy and Emayatzy Corinealdi as Kunta’s wife Belle.

Kirby, a newcomer from the U.K., was handpicked by executive producers and the original Kunta Kinte, LeVar Burton who recently said now is the perfect time for a Roots remake. The stellar cast also includes veteran actor Mekhi Phiefer who will portray Jerusalem, a mute slave and rapper Clifford “T.I.” Harris as Cyrus, a solider in the Union Army pn the quest for freedom.
Forest Whitaker, Laurence Fishburne, Chad L. Coleman and Derek Luke also star in the remake.
The eight hour-four night series premieres on The History Channel on Monday, May 30 at 9 p.m.
