Heart Truth Red Dress February 12, 2010 Every New York Fashion Week there is one runway show that celebrates women inside and out and that’s the Heart Truth Red Dress show. The Red Dress Initiative is all about letting stylistas know that no matter how amazing your clothes look, a healthy heart is always the best fashion piece any woman can own. Celebrities, in all sizes, come out in droves to walk the runway dressed in designer red dresses every year to bring attention to the risk of heart disease in women. This year was no different, we spotted a number of our favorite starlets playing catwalk model for a day on the Heart Truth Red Dress runway. A slimmed-down Jordin Sparks strutted her stuff in a sweet, strapless Badgley Mischka gown with cascading ruffles in the front. J. Crew Collections had the honor of dressing the lovely Robin Roberts in an ethereal number. Kimora Lee Simmons showed off her post baby body in a slim and short dress from her own collection. Regina King’s sculpted bod looked outstanding in a bandage, Tracy Reese mini-dress. Raven Simone’s Tadashi Shoji dress highlighted her hourglass figure. Everything was running smoothly until our fly girl Estelle stepped on the runway. The salon, western gown creation Zac Posen designed for the Brit was , to be kind, costume-like and just not appealing. Estelle is just way too fab for that ill-fitting monstrosity. Jason Wu Fashion Review February 12, 2010 Jason Wu contiunes to live up to the hype that has surrounded the designer since winning the heart of our First Lady, Michelle Obama. For his Fall/Winter 2010 collections reaffirms all the buzz by expanding his repertoire to include a wardrobe of winter pieces like oversized cashmere coats, mohair sweater and chunky knitwear. Although, we applaud the new direction, we must admit the showstoppers were his luxurious dresses full of lace, silk drapes, tulle and organza. We especially were smitten with the gold paint-splatter, brown sheath worn by model to watch Sedene Blake. The richly designed dress will be a must-have fall look for women who long for sophisticated, wearable pieces in their wardrobe. Read More:
