“No one else in my family has it,” says Cannon, who recently announced he would be stepping down from his daily radio show to focus on his health after discovering he had two blood clots in his lungs. “The blood clot thing was probably the scariest because… I’ve known people who have passed away from that.”
During his last radio show he told listeners, “My doctor was saying that my work is going to kill me — and he’s not joking.” Cannon claims those blood clots originated from his existing kidney condition, which was originally thought to be kidney failure. “[It’s] something I’m going to be living with all my life.”
Cannon adds that he is lightening up his load at home and tries to get six hours of sleep a night. “I’m just trying to make sure I put my health first,” he says.
