Nicki Minaj may have an affinity for the color pink, but with yet another new business venture under her belt, we can bet she’s loving the color green, too—money green that is. This week, the eclectic rapper launched her first fragrance, Pink Friday, along with hundreds of her Barbz who helped her celebrate the occasion.
Minaj has partnered with cosmetics powerhouse Elizabeth Arden to create a scent that reflects her innovative and vivid personality. The fragrance is a mix of playful and sultry notes of juicy fruits, creamy vanilla and sensual musks. If the alluring scent isn’t enough to make you ooooh and ahhh, the bottle design definitely will— it’s a mini replica of the rapper herself donning a bright pink wig.
“Pink Friday is a celebration of my life at this moment,” said Minaj in a press release. “It is a reflection of me as a creator, and an expression of me as a woman. I know my Barbz will connect with and appreciate each aspect – from the name, to the outrageous bottle design.”
And while Minaj certainly has a lot on her plate these days as she preps for her new role on American Idol, she assures her fans that she played a major role in making the vision for her debut fragrance come to life.
“I was involved in every aspect of the decision-making process – it seems easy because I always get this feeling inside: I know if something is right or wrong. Each detail needs to ̳wow‘ me or it is not an option; that‘s my way of composing perfection,” said Minaj.
Minaj’s fragrance comes on the heels of her other beauty ventures including a nail polish collection for OPI and her Viva Glam Nicki lipstick shade for MAC Cosmetics.
