Nigerian singer Adokiye is offering her virginity to Islamic militants Boko Haram in exchange for over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by the group in April.
The 23-year-old pop singer told Nigeria’s Vanguard newspaper of her offer. “This is 11pm in the night and do you know what I am thinking about? Those little girls, where they are and what could be happening to them,” she said. “It is just unfair. They are too young. I wish I could offer myself in exchange.”
She continued: “They are between 12 and 15 year old girls for Christ sake. I am older and more experienced. Even if 10 to 12 men have to take me every night, I don’t care. Just release these girls and let them go back to their parents.”
An estimated 276 girls were abducted by Boko Haram from a boarding school in the town of Chibok in Northern Nigeria on April 14.
Adokiye, a UN Ambassador of Peace, recently caused a stir when she announced her virginity. Some have criticized her of using the kidnappings as a way to get media attention. “Call it whatever you like. Those girls must return to their Parents,” she tweeted earlier today.
