President Barack Obama appointed Shonda Rhimes to the Kennedy Center board of trustees.
The honor doesn’t require a Senate confirmation, reports the Associated Press.
Obama also tapped financier David Rubenstein and executive Alexandra Stanton to the same board.
“I am grateful that these impressive individuals chose to dedicate their talents to serving the American people at this important time in our country,” said Obama. “I look forward to working with them in the months and years ahead.”
Rhimes is certainly sharing her talents with America. She’s the creator and producer of ABC’s hit primetime drama Scandal, starring Obama supporter Kerry Washington. The third season of the riveting drama beings next Thursday.
The celebrated showrunner has also been busy at home. She recently welcomed her third adopted child to her family.
