But despite all of those achievements, both big and small, what the First Couple loves talking about the most is their kids. People magazine landed a holiday interview with the First Family, who discuss interesting details of their personal lives.

The President reveals that the girls aren’t really into Facebook right now. He says they keep themselves off Facebook: “Their theory is, ‘Why would we want to have a whole bunch of people who we don’t know knowing our business?'” He continues, “We’ll see in four years.”
As for their television habits — watching TV is a rare occasion for the girls — the First Lady says she and Malia and Sasha enjoy a bit of lighthearted comedy while the President is into the more intense dramas of the small screen. “For the girls and me, ‘Modern Family,’ that’s our favorite show,” she says. But for the man of the house, “Boardwalk Empire” and “Homeland” are his staples — that’s no surprise.

It’s clear that Barack and Michelle want their kids to be well-rounded — naturally, of course — who doesn’t? Mrs. Obama says the President has pushed Malia to read “The Grapes of Wrath” and “Tender Is the Night” among other literary classics.
But when it comes to getting help with their homework, the First Couple admits they don’t really give much at all — not because they can’t, but because the girls are pretty self-sufficient. President Obama says, “Very early on, we said to them, ‘Our job is to teach you to be able to function without us by the time you leave this house.’ Michelle started having them set the alarm and wake up at the age of five, make their beds and make sure that they were ready for school themselves.”
