Former Georgia officer Sherry Hall has been arrested and charged after making up a story that a black man shot her.
On September 13, Hall claimed that the man shot her in her bulletproof vest and fled into the woods. The story caused an uproar in the Butts County community, but soon Hall’s story fell apart.
Investigators were soon able to prove that the officer had lied about the shooting and on September 23, Hall was fired from her job. On Monday, Hall was arrested and now faces felony charges including tampering with evidence, false statements, a violation of oath of office, and interference with government property.
