As of Monday, the ad has received 10, 626 likes, but has also, unfortunately, generated racist backlash:
My family and I will never step into an @OldNavy store again. This miscegenation junk is rammed down our throats from every direction.

@OldNavy Old Navy HATES White babies!

Stop #WhiteGeocide
In response to the hate, was a whole lot of love. Grace Mahary, the model featured in the ad, shared Old Navy’s ad on her Instatgram page captioned, “In light of the controversy revolving around my pretend family… I am proud to be representing interracial love, multiculturalism, and most importantly, a mentality that supports opportunity for all ethnicities. Thanks @oldnavy #lovewins #hatefreezone”
And people on Twitter thanked Old Navy for highlighting diversity, sharing portraits of their real interracial families.
