Despite what has been a shocking and difficult week for a country that did not expect to elect Donald Trump as president, Oprah Winfrey is feeling hopeful for the future.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight this week, she said that she was looking forward to moving on from Clinton’s election loss, and had found some form of comfort in our future leader after watching Trump’s visit to the White House on Thursday play out.
“… I just saw President-elect Trump with President Obama in the White House and it gave me hope,” she said. “To hear President-elect Trump say that he had respect for President Obama, it felt that he had reached a moment where he was actually humbled by that experience.”
She added: “To hear President Obama say that he has renewed confidence in the peaceful transition, I think everybody can take a deep breath. Everybody can take a deep breath now!”
She tweeted similar words after Trump’s visit to the White House.

Well, some of her loyal fans were not please by the media mogul’s remarks.
Winfrey’s comments have not been well received online, as several people, including W. Kamau Bell, have expressed their disappointment in Winfrey’s view. Many said her comments appear tone-deaf given the timing.
