Oprah Winfrey’s OWN is on a roll; it has scored its most-watched month in network history in primetime for February.
According to TV By The Numbers, the network announced Tuesday that there has been a spike in traffic by 86% since last year, making it the fastest growing cable network for African-American audiences aged 25-54.
Tyler Perry’s drama, The Haves and the Have Nots, is cable’s most-watched show on Tuesday nights and the number one original cable series for African-Americans. It also ranks as the top 10 original primetime series on ad-supported cable nets, nearly tying OWN’s Tuesday nights with cable channel TBS.
Tyler Perry’s comedy Love thy Neighbor, also gave a boost to OWN’s February ratings as Wednesday night’s number one original cable series for African Americans.
Reality series Raising Whitley, following comedienne Kym Whitley and Moms Got Game following Pamela McGee, former WNBA player and mother of NBA player, JaVale McGee, also pumped OWN’s February ratings up. They are Saturday night’s top two original series for African-Americans aged 25-54.
