This just in: Orange is officially one of the hottest beauty trends of spring 2010. Even though we’re barely out of February, we’re so ready to ditch deep, wintry makeup hues for lighter, brighter shades—like orange! From neon tangerines to soft corals and peaches, this citrus-y shade is one of the hottest makeup trends of Spring 2010. We know that, in theory, wearing orange blush or lipstick may seem kind of, well, loud—but the latest formulas are sheer, shimmery, or blended with enough warm undertones to make them super-wearable and wildly flattering on brown skin (just look at how gorgeous Solange looks in her tangerine lipstick!). Here, we pulled together Spring’s hottest new orange-hued makeup products.
Hard Candy PlexiGloss in Melon Sparkle ($5) gives lips a sheer, twinkly wash of juicy orange. And the price is to die for.
Nars Duo Eyeshadow in Mediteranee ($32) comes with two of the prettiest shadows we’ve seen in awhile. Use the golden hue allover your lid, and accent the crease and outer corners with the deep, burnt orange shade.
We predict that MAC Nail Lacquer in Malibu Peach ($12) will be the hottest manicure color this Spring. An electric, almost day-glo orange, the shade is absolutely divine on toes.
Korres Limited Edition Mango Lip Collection ($21) set of three orange-hued lipsticks are blended with moisturizing mango butter, antioxidant vitamin C and all-natural sun filters.
Pop Beauty Lid Neon’s ($22) collection of uber-bright eyeshadow shades looks like it jumped off the set of Rihanna’s extra-colorful “Rude Boy” video! The orange shade is particular chic—use a tiny eyeliner brush to trace it along your bottom lashline for a sexy pop of color.
Lancome Pop’n Cheeks Blush ($35) is a museum-worthy blend of gold, soft peach and coral geometric shapes. Blended together, the hue gives your skin an instant burst of radiance.
Make Up For Ever Glossy Full Couleur #2 ($18) is a lightweight, totally non-sticky gel-gloss that gives lips a juicy burst of tangerine color.
Bobbi Brown Nectar Shimmer Brick Compact ($38), a combination of five complimentary peach, melon, and coral shimmers. Lightly dust along cheekbones, bridge of nose and forehead to instantly wake up blah, winter-worn skin.
Tarte Infinite Glow Bestsellers ($30) contains everything you need to get glowing: Mineral Powder Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess, an award-winning Cheek Stain in Tipsy (a vivid, sheer melon hue that’s gorgeous on brown skin!), and a moisturizing 24/7 Lip Sheer in May Flowers. Everything you need to get glowing, all in one chic little compact.
