Since Outkast’s premature and abrupt split in 2006, rumors have been flying questioning whether there was any bad blood between Andre 3000 and Big Boi.
Big Boi appeared on last week’s HuffPost Live putting any and all rumors to rest, reassuring fans that there were no hard feelings between he and his bandmate.
“We’re definitely in close contact,” Big Boi said. “We’ve been hanging out all summer with our boys and doing things like going paintballing…and being dads…We took our kids to see the movie Dope and things like that.”

Big Boi brought up Key & Peele‘s hysterical—albeit fictitious—skit that suggests the relationship between the two musical masterminds is frayed. Big Boi said that he had laughed at the skit… and sent it to Andre 3000 to see.
“I guess if we’re not in the public eye making music, people just don’t know,” Big Boi said. “We’re brothers before music. We were brothers before this, and we’re going to be brothers for life.”
