According to the Daily News, there is no known cause of death as an autopsy is pending. As of Sunday, police didn’t suspect criminal activity.
Tims rose to fame in 1996 when he and his wife Riva founded New Destiny Christian Center church in Orlando, Florida. Its current congregation stands at a whopping 8,000 members.
Unfortunately, in 2009 Tims divorced his wife after 15 years of marriage. He reportedly admitted to having an extramarital affair with a stripper. Mrs. Tims soon left the church to create her own; the Majestic Life Institute.
Pastor Tims will be missed and never forgotten. His church will carry on his legacy in his absence.
