Patti LaBelle Reacts To The Death Of Her 'Sister In Song' Aretha Franklin

Patti LaBelle paid tribute to musical legend Aretha Franklin on Twitter after the world learned of her passing.
With the announcement of the Queen of Soul’s death on Thursday at age 76 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, Labelle released a statement in response to Franklin’s passing.
“I am deeply saddened about the passing of the Queen of Soul and my sister in song, Aretha Franklin,” the note read. “Today the world has experienced a tremendous loss. Aretha was a rare treasure whose unmatched musical genius helped craft the soundtrack to the lives of so many. My sympathy, love, and prayers go out to her family, loved ones, and fans around the globe.”
Celebrity reactions are coming from all over the county as more and more people wake up to the news of Franklin’s passing. Diana Ross, John Legend, Ava DuVernay, Niecy Nash and more have already shared their public condolences.
