We’re sure you remember what having a crush was like in elementary school and most of us would just pass a note to the person we liked with, “check yes if you like me, check no if you don’t,” written on it, sometimes we’d add “maybe” if we didn’t want to put too much pressure on them. But, Michael Jordan went the extra mile.
A poem that the basketball legend wrote to his elementary school crush is currently being auctioned, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, and, apparently, it seems Jordan knew how to sweep his crush off her feet. The poem reads:
Russell Wilson Pens Heartfelt Open Letter To His Sister As She Graduates High School
Only you can brighten my day.
Only you can show me the way.
Only you can except my love.
You and the great man above.
Only you can kiss my cheek.
When I [sic] with you I never fear defeat.
I hope you grow very, very tall.
Because right now you haven’t grown at all.
My face shows happiness and blue.
Because I will love Only You.
The poem is being auctioned off by Goldin Auctions, hopefully, whoever buys it can use it as inspiration for wooing their crush.
