In an upset that has left the U.S. and much of the world speechless, Donald Trump, a man accused of sexual assault and rape, was elected president of the United States.
As polls closed and votes were tallied last night, it slowly became clear that much of America voted against progress and as many of us watched in horror, celebrities took to social media to express their grief, fear, and disappointment.
Janelle Monaé tweeted, “Once again America has continued to FAIL WOMEN, MINORITIES, MUSLIMS, & IMMIGRANTS, LGBTQ, this is so disgusting.” And, actor Sam Richardson echoed her sentiment. “You can’t be entirely surprised. This is the same country that responded to the idea of Black Lives Mattering with hate and vitriol,” he wrote.
Well, s**t just got real. I'm looking at the small pockets of blue and they are very small. Does this country harbor that much hatred
