Eric Trump, President Donald Trump’s second son and now the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, believes Democrats are hating on his father.
So much so, that he doesn’t even think Democrats are people.
In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity this week, Trump was asked about the president’s critics. “Don’t you wish you went to Washington so you could be dealing with this every second of every day?”
“I’ve never seen hatred like this,” Trump responded. “To me, they’re not even people. It’s so, so sad. I mean, morality is just gone. Morals have flown out the window. We deserve so much better than this as a country. You know it’s so sad. You see the Democratic Party. They’re imploding. They’re imploding. They have no message. You see the head of the DNC, who is a total whack job. There’s no leadership there.”
Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez tweeted a response to Trump on Wednesday morning: “Democrats are people. So are Muslims, immigrants, women, people with pre-existing conditions, and everyone else Trump is hurting.”
The younger Trump, who has called the Russia probe “the greatest hoax of all time,” attacked Democrats on the same day a story broke about Donald Trump shifting charity money into his own business.
The Eric Trump Foundation hosts an annual golf invitational at the Trump National Golf Club in Westchester County, New York, for children’s cancer research. The report alleges that the foundation received payments for the use of their golf course, even though Trump had told Forbes, “We get to use our assets 100% free of charge.”
Asked by a Twitter user if he had responded to questions about the charity, Trump responded:
“Let’s not politicize pediatric cancer.”
We think you already did. But carry on.
