Bush’s preference for Clinton was outed by former Maryland lieutenant governor and daughter of the late Robert F. Kennedy, Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, Monday when she posted a photo of herself and Bush captioned, “The President told me he’s voting for Hillary!”

The spokesman for the Bush family, Jim McGrath, declined to confirm Townsend’s post stating, “The vote [former] President Bush will cast as a private citizen in some 50 days will be just that: a private vote cast in some 50 days.”
He is not commenting on the presidential race in the interim, according to Politico.
After their son’s unsuccessful campaign for president, both Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush became silent on the political climate. Neither attended the Republican National Convention in Cleveland where Donald Trump accepted the Republican nomination for president.
