Hillary Clinton’s official running mate, Tim Kaine, wowed audiences across the nation with a powerful (and somewhat bilingual) speech during last week’s Democratic National Convention. And now he’s wowing them with his choice to praise and worship in a predominately Black church.
The Democratic vice presidential nominee opened up to Christian Daily about his church-going practices, which have been upheld since 1984, at St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church in Richmond, Virginia.
What to Know About Tim Kaine, Hillary Clinton’s New Running Mate
“Anne found it in the summer of 1984,” Kaine tells Christian Daily. “We were married here in November of 1984, and this and our neighborhood are really the center of our lives here. So we needed some prayers today, and we got some prayers, and we got some support and it really feels good.”
Hillary Clinton stands proud of her running mate’s faith. “[Faith] was a call to serve others in every way that we can. And as you get to know Sen. Kaine, you will see, that Tim’s lifelong commitment to social justice is a shining example of his faith in action,” says Clinton.
