The story of Tennessee State University coach Catana Starks gets the Hollywood touch in a biopic starring Taraji P. Henson and the late Michael Clarke Duncan.
From the Rough tells the inspirational story of how Starks—the first woman to ever coach an all-men’s team at the collegiate level—overcame deep prejudices and incredible odds but still managed to take the HBCU’s golf team to an all-time record championship season.
The film was one of actor Michael Clarke Duncan’s last films before his untimely death in September 2012.
