At an international summit meeting in Turkey on Monday, President Obama acknowledged that while the current strategies for defeating ISIS has had some success, the shortcomings should prompt nations to pull resources to send a larger message.
“We have the right strategy and we’re going to see it through,” the President said as reported by The New York Times.

During his speech, President Obama addressed Friday’s attacks in Paris which has resulted in the deaths of 129 people.
“While the terrible acts in Paris were obviously a terrible and sickening setback, even as we grieve with our French friends, we can’t lose sight that there has been progress being made,” he said. “I made the point to my fellow leaders that if we want this progress to be sustained, our nations need to step up with the resources that this fight demands.”
In addition, the President addressed the matters of Syrian refugees who are in need of asylum in various countries. Those who have been screened via rigorous security checks, he says should be welcomed into the country as, “slamming the door in their faces would be a betrayal of our values.”
“We also have to remember that many of these are the victims of terrorism themselves, that’s what they’re fleeing. Our nations can welcome refugees who are desperately seeking safety and ensure our own security.”
