President Obama is now one of the newest Americans to sign up for his signature legislation, Obamacare.
The president signed up for the health care service over the weekend to promote the Affordable Care Act. In 2010, Obama promised that he would participate after passing it as a law.
The White House issued a statement saying the President “was pleased to participate in a plan as a show of support for these marketplaces which are providing quality, affordable health care options to more than a million people.”
Obama signed up privately and chose the more affordable “bronze” level health insurance plan. The White House calls the president’s signing a “symbolic” act, since his healthcare will continue to be provided by the military.
