In the awake of the Paris terrorist attacks and the Congressional debate surrounding refugee admittance into the U.S., President Obama visits with refugees to ease political qualms.
Visiting a Malaysian refugee center on Saturday, the President said that the children of those seeking refuge are the “opposite of terror,” reports The Straits Times.
“The notion that somehow we would be fearful of them, that our politics would somehow leave us to turn our sights away from their plight is now representative of the best of who we are,” he remarked.

During his visit to the Dignity for Children center located in Kuala Lumpur, the President played with the school-aged children as they did their math problems and drew pictures and joked with them, and offered many of them hugs.
“They’re just like our kids,” he said. “And they deserve love and protection and stability and an education.”
In September, President Obama announced his intentions to accept at least 10,000 Syrian refugees into the country over the course of the next year.
