I’m hoping the title “Chocolate Toothpaste” hasn’t already deterred you from reading on. As a beauty assistant, I’ve seen a lot of unique, sometimes weird, but always interesting products. However, I must say Theodent is something I almost put in the “awkward” category. But after a coworker raved about the toothpaste, my curiosity was piqued. It was hard to believe that chocolate toothpaste could be in any way refreshing. Well, there is a method to the madness.
Countering my assumption, Theodent is NOT chocolate-flavored. It’s actually got a crystal mint flavor that’s quite pleasant. The main ingredient, Rennou, is derived from chocolate. Rennou is non-toxic, and research suggests that it’s more effective for strengthening and rebuilding tooth enamel than fluoride, a chief ingredient in most toothpastes that some studies suggest is not so good for you. Theodent has the power to fight buildup and prevent cavities minus any harsh side effects. After using it for a few weeks, the toothpaste not only seemed to strengthen my teeth, but it also made my smile appear a bit brighter and whiter.
Theodent toothpaste is non-toxic, cruelty-free, and highly effective for all you “going green” girls. I tried the Classic version ($10), but there is also Theodent 300 ($100), which is an extra-strength formula. Both products are available at www.theodent.com.
