If you watched the Academy Awards Sunday night, then you may have noticed that Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power” was played during the intro and outro of the show.

Well, Public Enemy has a few things to say about that.
Professor Griff told TMZ, “The show can’t claim the blackness of Public Enemy’s message.”

Unfortunately, Universal Music Group owns the license to the song, so Public Enemy had no say in the decision to use the track.
