History is making its way to the silver screen soon with the official production of “Red Tails,” a motion picture chronicling the true story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first all African-American aerial unit.
“Star Wars” mastermind George Lucas will produce the film, now slated for release in January 2012, Eurweb.com reports.
Directed by Anthony Hemingway (the man behind television smash hit “The Wire”), the film will star Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard and Bryan Cranston. Cliff Smith aka Method Man and “Prides” Kevin Phillips also co-star.
Set in 1944, the film follows the airmen through their struggles in combat set against the backdrop of racial prejudice and war. We know this one will be amazing — watch the official trailer above!
