When asked what fans can look forward to seeing this season, King told ESSENCE.com, “We’ll definitely continue getting to know the characters more. They’ll be some things that are unexpected that take place with a few of the characters this season — it will be jarring! Although “Southland” has been doing well, King is keeping busy on her time off. She recently signed up to become the media ambassador for the 2012 SAG awards. She says her good friend Angie Harmon put her on to the job and her goal is to get the world of Twitter excited for the awards slated for Sunday, January 29.
As you can see, King is high in demand these days. But don’t think for a minute she’ll pass up the opportunity to reunite with her original “Friday” cast members. “I would love to be a part of it if Ice Cube is actually reuniting the cast. That movie is a cult classic.”

But like any actress with a career span of 25 years, she’ll need to see the script first. “It would be great to be part of the [movie] as long as [Dana] is not a stripper,” she laughs.
Tune into “Southland” tonight on TNT at 10 p.m.
