Rihanna is donating $5,000 to Chicago’s Barrington High School to help with expenses brought on by her brief and tardy visit several months ago.
The 25-year-old singer showed up tardy to an appearance at the high school in March, leaving students waiting for over four hours.
“She was late in coming that day and a lot of people waited anxiously for her appearance,” said Barrington Unit District 220 official, Jeff Arnett. “Even though this money is late in coming, it’s still appreciated.”
Rihanna may now be in good graces with her fans in Chicago, but fans in Monaco were not too pleased with the Unapologetic singer after she showed up to a concert three hours late earlier this week.
Concert-goers spent $782 for tickets that covered a concert and dinner with the singer, but after waiting for over two hours for her to arrive they expressed their anger via Twitter.
“We’re waiting,” said one user. “Frankly, this delay is abuse.”
Rihanna was scheduled to hit the Monte Carlo Sporting Club & Casino stage at 8:30 p.m Wednesday night, but ended up showing up at 11:30 p.m.
