Popular Howard Stern Show co-host Robin Quivers shocked the world today by announcing that she had been battling cancer over the past year, reports TMZ and Hollywood Life.
Quivers said her cancer developed from endomentrial tissue, which is located in the uterus. Quivers has since undergone chemotherapy and is proud to announce that she’s cancer free.
Although Quivers had been fighting the illness quietly and out of the public eye, she admits to having the support of her staff during her tough time. While receiving treatment, Quivers continued her radio hosting duties at home, opting not to appear at the studio.
Her fellow host, Howard Stern, shared his concern for his beloved friend on air. “I gotta be honest, I thought she was a goner,” said Stern while also admitting to getting chills when hearing Quivers’ story.
Last year, doctors discovered that Quivers had a cancerous tumor the size of a grapefruit. Stern initially “freaked out” upon hearing Quivers would be undergoing surgery. “It was just a f–ing thing that came out of left field,” he shared.
“Robin means more to me than anything,” said Stern. “Seeing her go through this just f—ing tore me up.”
