The leader behind the 1994 slaughter of more than 500,000 Rwandans has been convicted of genocide and sentenced to life in prison, reports USA Today.
Former director of Rwanda’s Ministry of Defense Theoneste Bagosora organized the slaughter of more than 500,000 men, women and children of the minority Tutsis as well as political moderates from the Hutu majority in a 100-day massacre led by the former extremist Hutu government.
