Comedian Chris Redd has been promoted to become a repertory player on Saturday Night Live ahead of the season 45 premiere this weekend.
His promotion comes after Leslie Jones left the show at the end of the most recent season, and Sasheer Zamata quietly stepped away two years ago. Long-running castmate Kenan Thompson remains on the show, although his upcoming sitcom is in the works at NBC.
According to Vulture, Redd has made a name for himself on the show with a consistent output of musical parody sketches.
His SNL impressions include Sen. Cory Booker, Kanye West, Sterling K. Brown and Katt Williams. Last April, Redd dropped by the Yes, Girl! podcast and spoke on his road from comedy road to 30 Rock. Check it out below.
