Sherri Shepherd made her final appearance on The View Monday after seven seasons as a co-host.
The 47-year-old said she was “extremely and profoundly grateful” for her experience with the show, calling it “the best seven years” of her life.
Shepherd also surprised viewers by taking the headlines into her own hands and joking about her divorce, “When I started The View seven years ago, my [son] Jeffrey was 2 years old, and I was going through a very public divorce [from Jeff Tarpley]. Now, my son is 9 years old, and I’m going through another very public divorce [with Lamar Sally]. It’s a good thing Barbara Walters and [producer] Bill Geddie were better at picking co-hosts than I was at choosing my husbands!”
Shepherd is getting ready to make her Broadway debut in Cinderrella this September.
