A Pennsylvania judge ruled Tuesday that Sherri Shepherd is the legal mother of her 8-month-old child born via surrogacy.
Shepherd and her ex-husband Lamar Sally agreed to pursue surrogacy before having a change of heart about their relationship. Since their divorce,the couple has been locked in a nasty legal battle over the parentage of the surrogate child.
“It’s bittersweet,” Sally said. “I’m glad it’s over but I feel sad what it had to come to.” [People]
BET is adding new stars to their upcoming lineup. Kelly Rowland revealed on twitter that she’s heading up a new reality singing competition, Chasing Destiny, set to air on BET in the upcoming season.

Kudos are due to Orange Is The New Black star Uzo Aduba who finished the Boston Marathon in just over five hours. Aduba ran the26 mile race in honor of her late friend, Andrea Trasher, who died of from breast cancer last year.

Sadly, Patti LaBelle has been told to pack up her dancing shoes and leave during last night’s elimination on xi. But LaBelle says she’s learned some new moves that she may be bringing to the stage at her next concert.

FINALLY! After over five months of waiting, the Senate is finally going to vote to confirm Loretta Lynch as the U.S. Attorney General. Republicans have been blocking Lynch’s confirmation since President Obama nominated Lynch to be the first Black woman Attorney General in American history. Al Sharpton and the National Action Network even staged a hunger strike to sped up the Senate. Hopefully, Lynch will have her confirmation on Thursday. [New York Times]
