Bel-Air has viewers locked in and glued to their screens every Thursday evening this season. The dramatic reimagining of the classic 90’s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has shattered records at Peacock, and already received an early Season 3 renewal.
Naturally, fans are hooked to the many bold twists and turns the show is taking in its second season, many of which the cast has promised will shock fans.
For Simone Joy Jones and Jordan L. Jones, who portray Lisa and Jazz respectively on the hit drama, the show’s success is little surprise.
“We knew that it was going to be a hit, because we get all the scripts,” Jordan L. Jones laughed. “As we were shooting, we thought ‘oh, they have no idea what’s about to hit them.'”
For Simone Joy Jones, season 2 was all about excitement for Lisa’s story arc.
“Lisa’s world doesn’t relax,” the actress tells us. “It gets even more complicated. So, I think the people that are seeing themselves in Lisa at this moment can watch her carry herself with grace because she really does…also, I’m excited for people to see Lisa be loved.”
Jordan Jones has a similar sentiment when it comes to his version of Jazz, who’s got a much different relationship with Hillary Banks than the original did.
“People ‘ship’ us,” he said. “I think it’s more realistic and less sitcom. It was great seeing the writing of how we end up getting together. The fan response has been great, people love us together – we have a little height difference though,” he laughed. “But height don’t matter when you’re a G.”
