A Cleveland police officer is facing multiple charges after allegedly attempting to kidnap a 12-year-old girl who was waiting on a school bus in Euclid, before filming himself urinating on her.
According to KTLA, Officer Solomon Nhiwatiwa approached the 12-year-old while off-duty on Aug. 16 as she was waiting for the school boss. Nhiwatiwa asked the girl if she wanted a ride to school, which she refused. The off-duty officer then drove away, but about a minute later he returned, parked his car and approached the girl. According to the prosecutor’s office, the 5-year veteran with the Cleveland Police Department exposed his genitals and urinated on the child while filming on his phone.
He then got back into his car and drove away.
“These actions are impossible to comprehend,” said Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley. “My office will hold him accountable and ensure that he never holds the position of police officer again.”
Nhiwatiwa was arrested by the Euclid Police Department on Tuesday and is facing charges of attempted kidnapping, criminal child enticement, public indecency, pandering obscenity involving a minor, disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, endangering children, assault and attempted interference of custody.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 26 and has since been suspended without pay.
