On Sunday, November 15th, Star Jones hosts ‘Heart of the City: Dying to Eat in Jackson,’ a BET News exclusive on obesity in Black America. The one-hour special focuses on Jackson, Mississippi, home to the largest population of African-Americans, as well as the country’s most obese state.
The feature will touch on personal accounts, dish out statistics and create an open dialogue between the community at risk and expert guests.
African-Americans are more overweight and obese than any other racial group and at risk for developing heart disease, diabetes, stroke, hypertension, and certain types of cancer.
