Stevie Wonder has filed for divorce from his wife of 11 years, designer Kai Millard Morris. The couple, who married in 2001, have been separated since October 2009.
According to divorce papers obtained by TMZ, Stevie Wonder — whose real name is Stevland Morris — cited irreconcilable difference as the reason for the breakup. The papers don’t indicate an amount but, TMZ is reporting, some of Wonder’s assets will be split in the divorce.
The Grammy-winning singer is asking for joint custody of the couple’s sons, Kailand, 10, and Mandla, 7.
Before going out of business in 2010, Millard-Morris’ fashion label, Kai Millia, was worn by Michelle Obama.
Wonder is agreeing to pay both spousal and child support.
