Millions of Americans tuned in Sunday night to watch the 60 Minutes interview with Stormy Daniels, the pornstar who had an alleged 2006 affair with President Donald Trump.
The interview, which propelled the news magazine show to its highest-rated episode in 10 years, was pegged as an opportunity for Daniels to tell her side of the story. She is currently caught up in a legal quagmire with Trump and his attorney Michael Cohen over the non-disclosure agreement she signed for $130,000 days before the 2016 election.
The payoff could constitute an illegal campaign donation to the Trump campaign, which will put the President in further legal problems.
Here are four shocking revelations we learned from Daniels in Sunday’s interview:
She Was Threatened:
Daniels said Trump’s personal attorney Cohen threatened to sue in 2011 shortly after an interview she did with a magazine (the article did not run). She then said that a man approached her a few weeks later while she was in Las Vegas.
“I was in a parking lot, going to a fitness class with my infant daughter,” Daniels said. “And a guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.’ And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl. It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom,’ and then he was gone,” she said.
She chose not to tell the police about the incident because she feared for her life.
She Had Sex With Donald Trump Even Though She Didn’t Want To — But Says She Is Not A Victim:
Daniels shared the sordid details behind the sexual encounter, including the fact that she had unprotected sex with Trump.
But she also told Anderson Cooper that she didn’t plan nor want to have sex with Trump that night. She had asked Trump to use the restroom in his hotel room, and when she was done he was “perched” on the hotel bed.
“And I was like, ‘Ugh, here we go,’” she said. “And I just felt like maybe — it was sort of — I had it coming for making a bad decision for going to someone’s room alone and I just heard the voice in my head, ‘Well, you put yourself in a bad situation and bad things happen, so you deserve this.’”
But Daniels insisted that the sex was consensual: “But I didn’t say no. I’m not a victim.”
Trump Told Daniels That She Reminded Him Of His Daughter, Ivanka:
Trump appeared to have been impressed by Daniels’ wit and appearance, so much so that he even compared her to his daughter Ivanka, Daniels told Cooper.
“He was like, ‘Wow, you — you are special. You remind me of my daughter.’ You know — he was like, ‘You’re smart and beautiful, and a woman to be reckoned with, and I like you. I like you,’” Daniels said.
Karen McDougal, the other woman who has come forward about having an affair with Trump, told CNN that he had also compared her to Ivanka.
There Could Be More Evidence Of The Affair To Be Released:
When asked whether she had any evidence like video, photos or text messages to support her claims, Daniels wouldn’t comment.
“My attorney has recommended that I don’t discuss those things,” she said.
Her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, shared a tweet last week in which he posted a photo of what appears to be a CD or DVD. He implied there was more evidence to be released in the future.
“If ‘a picture is worth a thousand words,’ how many words is this worth?????” the tweet read.
He confirmed to the Today show on Monday morning that there would be more to come: “I’m not playing games. There will be more evidence. It’s just not going to happen right now.”
