Tamar Braxton is due to give birth to her first child this summer and she’s already thinking about her parenting style. According to the YBF, she’ll simply take her parenting cues from her mother, Evelyn.
“I think if I follow her blueprint, I’ll be alright,” said Braxton. “My parents did a great job raising us. We’ve grown up to respect our parents and respect others. We get into little tiffs but we always make up. Those are the values I’d like to instill in my child.”
As for her fashion forward maternity style choices, the “Love and War” singer says she’s been wearing lots of Alexander McQueen. “I call it ‘maternity’ McQueen… because a lot of his things are stretchy,” said Braxton. “A lot of BCBG. I refuse to wear anything uncomfortable.”
It’s also that comfort she’s seeking when it’s time to deliver. She says she won’t be taking any runway items with her to the maternity ward. “It won’t be anything high fashion. It will all be comfortable clothes.”
Braxton told ESSENCE.com a few weeks ago that she and hubby Vincent Herbert aren’t exactly ready for their child. “We’re a lot behind,” said Braxton. Vincent added, “We’re waiting for Toni Braxton and some of her other sisters to figure out all that type of stuff because they really want to be a part of the baby thing.”
