Tamar Braxton has something special in store for fans dying to hear new music from her. The ever-outspoken Braxton says it’s nothing like she’s done before.
Talking to The Insider, Braxton said, “At first I wasn’t allowed to sing what I wanted to sing and I think that’s where the frustration came from before. It’s opinionated, it’s funky, it’s fresh. This is the true definition of Tamar.”
It’s been a long 12 years since Braxton put out new music. Her debut album, Tamar, spawned the singles “Get None” and “If You Don’t Wanna Love Me.” Unfortunately, it barely made a splash, peaking at 127 on the Billboard 200.
But the ever-changing beauty and hair maven has landed another record deal — this time with Streamline/Interscope Records. Braxton told SheIsDiva.com that her debut single from her yet-to-be titled album was scheduled to premiere along with her new reality show, Tamar and Vince, on September 20. However, to Braxton’s disapproval, it’s been pushed back two weeks. “I will definitely be getting to the bottom of that very soon because I can’t wait for everybody to hear this,” she said.
When asked if she will be sharing the spotlight with anyone on her album Braxton said, “Not as of now. And I’m fine with that. I’ve waited my life to do my record. So I’m cool rocking with myself!”
Sadly, fans will have to wait just a bit longer to hear the full project. It won’t hit stores until next year.
