A high school teacher has been arrested after a video of her viciously slapping a student went viral.
Mary Hastings, a teacher at Ozen High School, is seen repeatedly slapping a student in a video that was posted to Twitter.
The video begins with Hastings repeatedly smacking a student in the back of the head while saying, “Because you are stopping him from graduating, you idiot a**.” Atyra Deroune, another student in the class, told 12 News that Hastings attacked the student after he asked about his grade, “He asked Ms. Hastings for the grade or whatever and she went awol and she picked up papers and threw it at him.”

Hastings was put on administrative leave and faces on charge of assault.
