When August Alsina’s switched up his hair it started trending on Twitter. Center parts and twin cornrows are having a moment with Black men in music, with some of our favorite celebrities like, Quincy Brown, Omarion and Chris Brown embracing the trend. Cornrows may be old school but this new style has made them fresh again, and we’re so here for it.
According to recent study, “man bun” was one of the most Googled terms last year. However, it seemed that for the most part, Black men had yet to embrace the trend. That is, until Omarion posted this faded-braided-man bun look on his Instagram, showing a stylish way for men of color to rock the trend. Additional parts are optional, but they definitely add to the cool factor.
Singing sensation Chris Brown has rocked a Ceasar cut since we were first introduced to him back in 2005. No more— lately, the h has been growing his hair out and sporting two sets of cornrows or snaked braids to the center of his crown, while leaving the rest of his hair faded. It’s easy to manage and a cool way to add a little something extra to your look.
RnB crooner, August Alsina has been experimenting with his hair a lot recently—and with good reason! With all of that hair, he even gives us hair envy. Recently, however, he’s traded in his usual twist-out for two sleek puffs that he accented with chopsticks and his standard faded edge-up. Guess the guys are tired of the girls having all of the fun with their hair and they’ve decided to play around with different looks, too. We’re all here for it.
