Tidal has announced that it will be donating $1.5 million from it’s October’s Tidal X: 10/20 charity concert to Black Lives Matter and other organizations.
According to The Root, the announcement was made on Friday, the same day Trayvon Martin would have turned 21-years-old. The Trayvon Martin Foundation is also set to receive a portion of the donation.

The funds were raised at the October charity concert featuring performances by Jay Z, Beyonce, Usher, Nicki Minaj, and T.I. among others.
Tidal will also support the nonprofit groups Opportunity Agenda, Hands Up United and Sankofa.org.

“The process of acquiring recommendations (for nonprofits) was collaborative and inspired by the message that speaks to racial and social inequities and injustice in our society,” said Dania Diaz, managing director of philanthropy at Jay Z’s entertainment company, Roc Nation. “Our ideology is to have a hifi level of consciousness in everything we do.”
