Marcus-David L. Peters, 24, was fatally shot in Richmond, Virginia on Monday (May 14). He was being pursued on Interstate 95 when Peters reportedly drove off the road, exited the vehicle naked and charged at the police, cops say. Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham released a statement to justify the police’s use of deadly force: “Our officers do not take the use of deadly force lightly. I think it’s important to remember that being naked does not remove a threat.” Peters’ mother believes “something went terribly wrong.” (NewsOne)
The Royal Wedding will go on as planned though Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, will not be able to attend as he recovers from heart surgery. Meghan released a statement about her father’s highly reported absence. “Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding,” she said via Kensington Palace. “I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.” (Twitter)
In a recent interview with Angie Martinez, J. Cole explained the leaked phone call he had with Kanye West. Following several reports that claimed West believed Cole was dissing him, West called the Dreamville rapper then posted a screenshot of the call on Twitter. “That made me feel a certain type of way,” Cole told Martinez. “I told him that it felt like you just used my name in that very quick conversation for social media and to keep your thing going or whatever you were doing.
